Thor — Review

18 May

Let just start by saying that I think you’ll be hard-pressed to find any red-blooded straight female over the age of 12 who won’t gawk at/drool over Chris Hemsworth, who plays the male protagonist.  Can we please take a few moments to applaud the casting director for finding such a fitting actor to play this part?  Admittedly, I did, at some point after finding out about this movie, rolled my eyes at the thought of watching a silly man run around with a hammer for 2 hours (I truly knew nothing about Thor other than that he’s a Thunder God in Norse mythology), and boy am I happy to be proven wrong.  For the guys out there, in case you’re wondering, Natalie Portman looks lovely as usual.  Who am I kidding, we’re talking about a woman who shaved her head (V for Vendetta) and still looks gorgeous, so you know she’s a real stunner.

All in all, Thor delivers a dashingly handsome fallen hero on a quest to redemption, action-packed sequences coupled with endearing wit and humour, making it a great addition to the Marvel movie franchise.

Note:

Make sure you stay till the end of the credits for a little preview of what’s to come in the next chapter leading up to The Avengers (2012).
