Fast Five — Review

18 May

Disregarding The Fast and the Furious franchise, the cast of Fast Five pretty much sells itself.  When you have Vin Diesel, Ludacris, The Rock, and Tyrese all in the same movie, you know you’re in for one hell of a ride.  I don’t want to say too much since this movie deserves to be seen in all its glory, but I what I can say is that it is easily, hands down, the best out of the series to date — no competition.   Mid-way through the climax, I couldn’t help but wonder “How the hell are they going to top this?”

Well, I got my answer in a little preview at the end and my gosh… it’s going to be epic! No seriously, everyone in the theater who has seen the previous films gasped, clapped, whooped and cheered upon seeing what’s coming up in the next installment. When the credits rolled up, I can say  it’s no surprise that the sixth movie was  immediately confirmed after the opening weekend.  I’m so happy that Justin Lin will be directing it because he’s done a brilliant job in Fast Five. This is  a definite must watch for the summer.

If you were to watch the series in chronological order, it would be:

    • The Fast and the Furious (2001)
    • 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
    • Fast & Furious (2009)
    • Fast Five (2011)
    • … whatever the 6th installment will be called
    • Tokyo Drift (2006)
